Department of State suspends license of Detroit used vehicle dealership

DETROIT – The Department of State has suspended the license of a Detroit used vehicle dealership for falsifying information on forms submitted to the department.

H & I Auto Sales, 8835 Mark Twain, owned by Hussein Hamdan, was served with a summary suspension on Jan. 25 after an inspection revealed forms submitted to the department for salvage vehicle inspections contained falsified information. The dealership certified that the mechanics listed on the forms completed repairs, when in fact they did not. The licensee then obtained resale titles and sold the vehicles knowing the titles were obtained using falsified information.

The suspension remains in effect until Hamdan meets with the department for a preliminary conference. Hamdan also may request an administrative hearing to contest the suspension. Additional administrative actions also are possible.
