Several Northern Michigan Secretary of State offices to be closed on June 8 for staff training

LANSING, Mich. – Several Secretary of State offices in Northern Michigan that operate with one staff person will be closed on Thursday, June 8, as these individuals travel to Lansing to attend an in-person departmental training session.
Temporarily closed offices and suggested alternative offices open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday that residents can visit include:
Closed office: Atlanta - Alternative office: 931 S. Otsego Ave., Gaylord
Closed office: Bellaire - Alternative office: 114 Northland Plaza, Kalkaska
Closed office: Harrisville - Alternative office: 1712 E. Huron Rd., East Tawas
Closed office: Newberry - Alternative office: 2700 Davitt St., Sault Ste. Marie
Closed office: Ontonagon - Alternative office: 902 Razorback Dr., Houghton
Closed office: Rogers City - Alternative office: 2666 US-23, Alpena
Closed office: Suttons Bay - Alternative office: 1759 Barlow St., Traverse City
Most residents can go online to Michigan.gov/SOS instead and complete their transaction in minutes.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s administration has doubled the number of services available online and now most transactions can be done from computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
Self-service stations are available for instant registration, driver’s license and ID renewals, as well as some other transactions. To find machine locations in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, visit Michigan.gov/SOS.
