Secretary of State office in Grand Haven to close for remodeling project until Sept. 23

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – The Secretary of State office at 1110 Robbins Rd. in Grand Haven will be closed for a week during a remodeling project, but most residents can go online to Michigan.gov/SOS instead for their transactions.
The office will be closed Monday, Sept. 9, through Friday, Sept. 20, and will resume normal service at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23.
The project includes painting, reconstruction of the counters at the office and electrical updates.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s administration has doubled the number of services available online and now most transactions can be done from computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
Self-service stations provide instant registration, driver’s license and ID renewals, as well as some other transactions, and offer nine language options, including Spanish. The nearest machine is located in the Meijer store at 15000 US-31 in Grand Haven.
Residents who need to come into an office for Secretary of State services during the remodeling period may schedule a visit to the closest alternative office at Michigan.gov/SOS or by calling 888-767-6424.
The nearest offices are located at 1485 E. Apple Ave. in Muskegon and 587 E. 8th St. in Holland. Both offices are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Wednesdays, when the hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
