Secretary of State office in Flint to close for two weeks during remodeling project

FLINT, Mich. – The Secretary of State office at 5512 Fenton Rd. in Flint will be closed for two weeks for a remodeling project, but most residents can go online to Michigan.gov/SOS instead for their transactions.
The office will close at 5 p.m. Friday, May 16, and will resume normal service at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 2.
The project includes reconstruction of the greeter counter, including new dividers and Plexiglass, carpet replacement, and other building updates.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s administration has doubled the number of services available online and now most transactions can be done from computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
Self-service stations provide instant registration, driver’s license and ID renewals, as well as some other transactions, and offer nine language options. The nearest self-service stations are located in the Meijer store at 2474 W. Hill Rd. and the Kroger store at 3838 Richfield Rd. in Flint.
Residents who need to come into an office for Secretary of State services during the remodeling period may schedule a visit to the closest alternative office at Michigan.gov/SOS or by calling 888-767-6424.
The nearest offices are located at 310 E. Third St. in Flint, 300 N. Main St. in Davison, and 4256 W. Vienna Rd. in Clio. Offices are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Wednesdays, when the hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
