Board of State Canvassers to hold special meeting May 21 in Lansing

The Board of State Canvassers will hold a special meeting on May 21 regarding the resolution of challenges and sufficiency of nominating petitions submitted by candidates seeking nomination at the August 4, 2026 Primary Election.

The meeting will be held in the Binsfeld Office Building, Room 1100, at 201 Townsend Street in Lansing and will begin at 9 a.m.

The Bureau of Elections has issued staff reports for all offices other than Governor and U.S. Senator. Staff reports are available on the board’s website and will be considered at the May 21 meeting. The board will make a final determination at the meeting on whether to accept or reject the staff’s recommendation. The bureau’s review of nominating petitions submitted for the Office of Governor and U.S. Senator remains ongoing, and will be considered at the board’s regular meeting scheduled for May 28.
