Honor Secretary of State office to close two days for upgrades

HONOR, Mich. – The Secretary of State office at 10577 Main St. in Honor will be closed for two days because of scheduled upgrades to the office, but residents can go online instead for most of their transactions.
The office will be closed Monday, July 13 and Tuesday, July 14. It will resume normal service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15.
Upgrades include the installation of new dividers and fresh paint.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s administration has doubled the number of services available online and now most transactions can be done from computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
Self-service stations provide instant license plate, driver’s license and ID renewals, as well as some other transactions, and offer nine language options. The nearest self-service station is located in the Meijer store at 3955 US-31 in Traverse City.
Residents who need to come into an office for Secretary of State services during the closure may schedule a visit to the closest alternative office at mi.gov/sos or by calling 888-767-6424. The nearest offices are located at 1759 Barlow St. in Traverse City and 100 Cedar St. in Suttons Bay. Both offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Wednesdays, when the hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Suttons Bay has a lunch break closure from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day, except Wednesdays, when the closure is from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
