Description

The acquisition of 78.5-acres in Wexford County, representing the final piece of undeveloped open land within the boundary of Mitchell State Park. The land consists of mixed hardwoods and a series of three man-made ponds. Acquisition allows for the expansion of outdoor recreation opportunities within the park.

Description

The acquisition of 78.47-acres of land in Montcalm County, now being managed as part of the Flat River State Game Area. The land mainly consists of an oak forest, a large wetland complex, and cropland. The land complements the habitat in the State Game Area for both game and non-game species. The tract was purchased with the Land Exchange Facilitation Fund (LEFF) and the State Wetlands Fund.

Description

The acquisition of 40-acres of forestland in Presque Isle County, now being managed as part of the Atlanta State Forest Management Unit. The property was surrounded by state forest land and includes an easement across private property, creating better access and more efficient land management. The tract was purchased with the Land Exchange Facilitation Fund (LEFF).

Description

This transaction was an 80-acre for 80-acre land exchange in Lake County. The applicant offered 80-acres of private land that was surrounded by state-owned land in exchange for 80-acres of state-owned land that was surrounded by private ownership. The newly acquired land is now being managed as a part of the Cadillac Forest Management Unit.

Description

This exchange was offered by the applicant to acquire 80-acres of state-owned land that had been classified as “Dispose” during the State Land Review. In exchange, the applicant offered 120-acres of private land that better consolidates DNR-managed land. The acquired land is now being managed as a part of the Atlanta Forest Management Unit in Presque Isle County.

Description

This exchange was offered by the applicant to acquire 40-acres of state-owned land that was surrounded by private ownership and approved in the “Exchange” category in the State Land Review, in exchange for 80-acres of land surrounded by state forest land. The acquired land is now being managed as a part of the Newberry Forest Management Unit in Luce County.
