Game Bird Release Permits
Game Bird Release Permit
This permit allows for the possession of native game birds for up to six months where you can either eat them or release them. The birds must be purchased from a DNR permitted breeder.
Game Bird Release Application and Permit (Type II)
A Game Bird Release Permit (above) is normally issued by Michigan licensed game bird breeders directly to their customers. However, this Type II Game Bird Release Permit can be issued by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division, Permit Specialist, for sales originating from out of the state, or other circumstances if necessary.
