Recognition: Legally Dedicated Natural Area
Size: 134 acres
Location: In Presque Isle, 5 miles from US-23 on Grand Lake Road Continue east on Grand Lake Road at the Rayburn Highway intersection. BNA is on right before Bell Bay Road.
Management: Rockport Recreation Area
Activities: Hiking, nature study, photography
Importance: Contains a stand of mature, virgin red and white pine with spruce, balsam, cedar and birch. Includes over 4,000 feet of Lake Huron shoreline composed primarily of limestone gravel shore. Provides habitat for plant species of special concern, including the Pitcher's thistle, a plant threatened with extinction.
