Union Springs Scenic Site
Recognition: Legally Dedicated Natural Area
Size: 160 acres
Location: In the eastern portion of the Upper Peninsula park, approximately 4 miles southwest of Silver City
Management: Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park
Activities: Hiking, cross-country skiing, nature study, photography
Importance: Contains Michigan's second largest natural spring within a rugged wilderness area. A white-cedar swamp surrounds the spring and its stream, although aspen dominates the adjacent upland areas. Beaver workings are present along the stream.
