Island Lake Recreation Area - Eclipse Yoga 2025
Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga is a refreshing and fun way to experience yoga surrounded by nature. Each 1-hour class begins with a paddle out to our spot, where we anchor down and enjoy a full yoga session on the boards, then paddle back in.
No experience with yoga or stand-up paddleboarding is needed. We provide the paddleboards and life jackets, and we’ll teach you everything you need to know... it's easier than you think! Modifications are offered for all levels, and you're welcome to stay on your knees if that’s more comfortable.
Worst case? You get a little wet. But it’s all part of the fun!
Upcoming Dates:
- Monday, July 14
- Monday, July 21
- Monday, July 28
- Monday, August 4
- Monday, August 11
- Monday, August 18
Must be 18 years old. Children 14-17 can participate if accompanied by a parent/ legal guardian. We recommend Sunblock, secure swimsuit, light clothing (something that won’t weigh you down if you go in the water, non-cotton). Do not bring anything you are not willing to lose or get wet. Eclipse will have a dry bag for keys and such. A water bottle if you can secure it to the board with a clip or a carabiner. Sunglasses and hats if you have a way to secure them.
You can register for classes HERE.
Registration closes 2 hours prior to the start of class.
If class must be canceled due to weather or water conditions, it will be posted on our Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/EclipseYoga.Roo.Jamie/. Those who registered ahead of time will be notified by e-mail as well. Class will be rescheduled for another time if cancelled. Otherwise, 24 hour cancellation notice must be given for a refund, less $5 processing fee.
A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.
