Learn to identify Michigan's native trees and understand how this skill can enhance your knowledge of the state's ecology and your local surroundings through this Becoming an Outdoors Woman clinic!
Hosted at Ludington State Park, program participants will spend an hour in the classroom exploring the basics of tree identification by covering topics like tree names, features and families before moving outside. The next portion of the class will be spent outside, where you will practice your new skills.
The cost for the class is $25, which includes a course book. To register, go to Michigan.gov/DNRLicenses and click on the "Purchase a license" button. Sign in (using either a username and password or your ID and birthdate), and find the class under the Becoming an Outdoors Woman tab.
A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.
