Bring the whole family to celebrate Winter Birds and Blooms: Valentine’s Edition at Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery!

This fun, free, all-ages event features a guided bird walk at 11 a.m. as part of the Great Backyard Bird Count (please dress warmly — binoculars will be available to borrow), along with hands-on activities like:

  • Making pinecone bird feeders
  • Decorating kid-friendly “binoculars"
  • Learning how native plants help our local birds
  • Enjoying coffee, hot cocoa and cookies
  • And much more! 

Partners include Friends of Wolf Lake, Audubon Society of Kalamazoo, Van Buren Conservation District, Kalamazoo In Bloom, Kalamazoo Are Wild Ones Chapter, Portage District Library Seed Library, the Kalamazoo Nature Center and Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy.

 

A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.
