Cold weather and little snow with 0-15 mph wind gusts
Numbers are dwindling in this week’s survey as there is little open water: 523 geese and 360 ducks.
Currently there is heavy snow cover on the fields causing poor conditions. The lagoons are frozen over, and most birds have moved off the area.
Tuesday morning had no hunters. Thursday had 5 hunters, 2 parties with 3 geese and no ducks taken. Saturday had 10 hunters, 4 parties and 9 geese taken.
The weekly goose harvest was 12. No ducks were taken.
Heavy snow cover is expected to limit opportunities. Continued cold in the forecast should keep the lagoons frozen.
