State-designated trails are open Dec. 1 - March 31 and trail grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground. Explore Michigan's vast network of snowmobile trails and experience the thrill of winter adventure.

Free Snowmobiling Weekend! Grab your friends and ride 6,000-plus miles of DNR-designated snowmobile trails, public roads and public lands (where authorized) on two back-to-back days Feb. 9-11, 2024. Residents and out-of-state visitors legally can ride without without the requirement of a snowmobile registration or trail permit.
