EPPP Licensing Examination for Psychology
PLEASE NOTE: To become a fully licensed psychologist in Michigan, applicants must pass the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) with a minimum score of 500. Applicants for a Master’s Limited License must achieve a minimum score of 350.
To be eligible for the EPPP, an individual must either hold or have previously held a master’s educational limited (TLLP) or doctoral educational limited license, or must have applied for and met all other requirements for a master’s limited or full psychologist license.
Please note that the doctoral temporary educational limited license, which is used solely for obtaining internship hours required for the doctoral educational limited license, does not grant eligibility to take the EPPP.
If you are eligible and ready to test, please notify our office by email at LARA-BPL-EligibleEPPP@michigan.gov. Include your name, email address, phone number, and license number. Once our office updates the online scheduling system, Clarus, you will receive an email from Clarus with instructions on how to register for the EPPP. You are not required to register immediately after activating your Clarus account. Your eligibility remains valid for 5 years. Requests for retakes are completed through your Clarus account.
If you are requesting accommodations, email a detailed outline of your request(s) to LARA-BPL-EligibleEPPP@michigan.gov. For additional time requests, please specify the amount of extra time you need; such as 30 minutes, 1 hour, Time and 1/2, or Double Time. Be sure to attach supporting documentation from your provider(s) or school confirming the diagnosis and/or the need for accommodations.
