Psychology Examination

EPPP Licensing Examination for Psychology

PLEASE NOTE: To become a fully Licensed Psychologist in Michigan, an applicant must pass the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) with a score of at least 500. Applicants for a Master’s Limited License are required to pass the EPPP with a score of at least 350.

To be eligible to take the EPPP, an individual must hold or have previously held either a master’s educational limited (TLLP) or doctoral educational limited license OR have applied for and met all other requirements for a master’s limited or full psychologist license.

The doctoral temporary educational limited license, which is specifically for obtaining internship hours required for the doctoral educational limited license, does not grant you eligibility to take the EPPP.

If you are eligible to take the EPPP and are ready to test, please notify our office by e-mail at LARA-BPL-EligibleEPPP@michigan.gov. In the e-mail, you must provide your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, and license number. After we notify the online scheduling portal, Certemy, that you are eligible, you will receive an e-mail from Certemy that will provide information about how to activate an account with their office. There is no requirement to register to take the EPPP at the same time the Certemy account is activated, eligibility remains active for 5 years.

If you are requesting accommodations, you must provide a written outline of your request(s) in an email to LARA-BPL-EligibleEPPP@michigan.gov.  If you are requesting additional time, please be specific about how much extra time you would like.  It may be 1 hour, 30 minutes, Double Time, or Time and 1/2.  Attach supporting documentation from your provider(s) and/or school confirming the diagnosis and/or need for accommodations.
