The Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), Child Care Licensing Bureau (CCLB), has summarily suspended the group child care home license of Connie Rookus, located at 9850 Young Avenue in Rockford. This action resulted from a recent complaint investigation of the child care home. CCLB took emergency action to protect the health, welfare, and safety of children.
Effective 6:00 p.m., February 8, 2023, the summary suspension order prohibits Rookus from operating a group child care home at 9850 Young Avenue, Rockford, or at any other address or location. Accordingly, she may not accept children for care after that date and time. The order also requires the licensee to inform all parents of children in her care that the license has been suspended and that she can no longer provide child care.
