LARA Celebrates Excellence in Public Service at Annual Employee Recognition Awards

LANSING, Mich. – Each year, the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) proudly recognizes exceptional employees whose dedication, professionalism, and service embody the department’s commitment to protecting people and promoting Michigan’s thriving business community. The annual Employee Recognition Awards (ERAs) celebrate team members who go above and beyond, strengthening public trust, fostering innovation, and advancing LARA’s mission.

What makes these awards especially meaningful is that the nominees are chosen by their peers. Each honoree was selected by colleagues who have witnessed their dedication firsthand—whether through protecting the public, ensuring fair and effective regulation, or helping Michigan businesses grow and thrive. These nominations reflect the deep respect and admiration of their coworkers and highlight how each recipient demonstrates an unwavering commitment to serving Michiganders in every corner of the state.

“I am continually inspired by the people who are part of Team LARA,” said Marlon I. Brown, Director of LARA. “They go above and beyond every day to protect the public and serve Michigan’s businesses with integrity and care. These awards are an opportunity to say thank you and to recognize the individuals who make LARA stronger, smarter and better for all Michiganders.”
