Press Release: CRA Issues Advisory Bulletin Clarifying Wholesale Marijuana Tax and Metrc Reporting

The Cannabis Regulatory Agency has released a bulletin responding to licensee questions about the wholesale marijuana tax under Public Act 23 of 2025 and its relationship to Metrc. The bulletin explains that the tax applies independently of Metrc and is determined solely by statute, with no changes to Metrc data-entry requirements, and reminds licensees that they are responsible for determining tax applicability and maintaining appropriate records.
