Jacob builds his future as a mechanic

A passion for mechanics, the right training and strong support helped Jacob achieve his employment goal.
With support from Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS), the Michigan Career and Technical Institute (MCTI), and a strong partnership with the MRS Business Network Division, Jacob received the guidance, training and resources needed to reach his employment goals. After completing his training and earning his certification, MRS also provided the tools he needed to succeed in the job. Continued follow-up services from his MRS counselor and ongoing collaboration with the Business Network Division helped ensure he had the support to grow in his career.
Jacob's dedication, work ethic and newly developed skills earned him a promotion, allowing him to expand his responsibilities by working on farm machinery. His success reflects how personalized transition services, quality training and strong partnerships can open doors to meaningful employment and long-term career growth.

After earning his certification in automotive mechanics, Jacob was promoted to work on farm machinery, where he now uses his skills to maintain and repair the equipment that keeps farm operations running.
