Two System Transition Period

In this issue of the MiUI Minute, we’re sharing important information about the Two System Transition Period. This is the period when Employers and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) will use the new MiUI system and the current Michigan Web Account Manager (MiWAM) for unemployment insurance needs. MiUI will launch with tax-related functions on December 15, 2025, and with benefits-related functions by the summer of 2026. You'll also find in this issue information about the role MiWAM will play in MiUI account initiation.

System Use After Tax Go Live

After the launch of MiUI on December 15, 2025, employers and TPAs will perform different actions in MiUI and MiWAM. Users will have to access both systems until MiUI launches benefits-related functions in 2026. A comprehensive breakdown of the actions to be performed in each system can be found on MiUI University.

MiUI Activation

MiWAM will play an important role in setting up your MiUI account. In December, employers will receive an 8-digit code in their MiWAM account that will be used to activate their MiUI accounts. In contrast, the setup of TPA accounts will take place within MiUI. The setup process for TPAs will differ based on their unique characteristics. Specific guidance for Employers and TPAs will be shared this fall.
