Connecting employers, leaders and talent across the state

The Michigan Works! Association plays a central role in driving the success of Registered Apprenticeship Programs and partnerships across the state. They coordinate and provide direct support to Michigan Works! Agencies in hosting Race to Talent events, connecting employers, workforce leaders and training partners to expand apprenticeship opportunities.

Michigan Works! Agencies play a critical frontline role in the success of Registered Apprenticeships statewide serving as trusted employer partners, talent connectors and local leaders who help design, launch and sustain programs that meet regional workforce needs.

The Association actively advocates for Registered Apprenticeship programs in Michigan, including promoting and securing sustainable funding. They also convene leaders from each Michigan Works! Agency along with state and federal partners to strengthen collaboration, share best practices and advance a unified, high-impact workforce strategy.

Employers looking to build a future-ready workforce are invited to join a "Race to Talent™ event, which provide the opportunity to hear directly from fellow Michigan employers who already utilize Registered Apprenticeships.

These leaders share their first-hand experiences and the benefits they have seen, such as increased retention and specialized skill development—offering a roadmap for those who do not yet have a program in place.
