Michigan Wine Grape Growers Program
The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will conduct a public hearing regarding the proposed establishment of a Michigan Wine Grape Growers Program. Petitions from Michigan wine grape producers were submitted to the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requesting establishment of a Program. Pursuant to Section 10 of the Agricultural Commodities Marketing Act (1965 PA 232), a temporary committee was appointed to consider the details of the Program. The temporary committee ultimately recommended that a Program not go forward at this time. The Act requires that a public hearing be set to receive comments.
