When the temperatures start to cool off and the leaves begin to turn colors, more than 30 Michigan state parks play host to fall harvest festivals. Hay rides, pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, costume contests, haunted trails, nature programs and horse-drawn carriage rides are just some of the family-friendly activities taking place each September and October.
Activities taking place in state park campgrounds are typically open only to registered campers only.
To make a camping reservation, visit www.midnrreservations.com or call 1-800-44PARKS. Camping reservations can be booked up to six months in advance, and we encourage you to book early as spots as these special event weekends tend to fill up quickly.
