Purchase Information

  • The Recreation Passport (replaced the former state parks sticker) is required for vehicle entry into state parks and recreation areas, state boat launches, state forest campgrounds and state trail parking lots. Local, county, municipal and metropolitan park passes will need to be purchased separately.

    • Protecting our natural resources for the next generation.

    What the money is used for

    The money you spend on your Recreation Passport goes right back into maintaining and improving the resources you use! Recreation Passport money helps to fund:

    • State parks and recreation areas, state forest campgrounds, trails and boat launches.
    • Local park improvements via Recreation Passport Grants.
    • Historic sites within state parks.
    • Outdoor recreation facilities and opportunities.
