Customer Service Centers
Our customer service centers are strategically located around the state to be accessible by all. Most locations operate Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are walk-in friendly for many services, such as license purchases and questions regarding natural resource management.
Even though many of our services are available online, customer service centers provide in-person help on more complex or specialized cases. If you are seeking to register for a permit or service that isn’t common, such as a disability permit, matrix of rules for ORV or guidance on hunting regulations, visiting a center could make the process easier and faster.
Because each office covers a broad geographic area, it may help to call ahead to confirm availability of the specific service you need, especially if you require a test or specialized permit.
Customer service centers are also points of contact for our divisions such as wildlife, forestry, fisheries and law enforcement.
Our 13 full-service customer service centers provide:
- Sales of hunting and fishing licenses (resident & non-resident).
- Sales of ORV (off-road vehicle) and snowmobile trail permits.
- Sales of Recreation Passports (for state park entry).
- Issuance of various permits including:
- Permits for hunters, anglers and ORV riders with disabilities.
- Crop damage permits for farmers.
- Salvage permits for road-killed animals.
- Administration of certain tests: boater safety exams, hunter education (experienced hunter, falconry, etc.)
- Issuance of temporary replacement hunting safety certificates.
- Answering questions and offering information about:
- Outdoor recreation opportunities in Michigan.
- Regulations for hunting, fishing, ORVs, snowmobiles and trails.
- Directing customers to appropriate services for injured wildlife, wildlife rehabilitators and related support.
