SPECIAL LOCAL WATERCRAFT CONTROLS - GENESEE COUNTY

BARNUM LAKE - R281.725.2 - Speed restriction.

2. On the waters of Barnum lake, township of Fenton, county of Genesee, state of Michigan, no operator of any motorboat shall exceed a slow-no wake speed.

BUELL LAKE - WC-25-95-001 - Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of Buell lake all within sections 2, 11, T9N, R7E, Thetford township, Genesee county, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be place as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

CROOKED LAKE - R281.725.1 - High-speed boating and water skiing prohibited.

1. On the waters of Crooked lake, township of Fenton, county of Genesee, state of Michigan, no operator of any motorboat shall:

(a) Operate such motorboat at high speed, which means a speed at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing condition.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

C. S. MOTT LAKE AND FLINT RIVER - R281.725.6 - Flotation devices, and motorboats, when prohibited.

6. On the waters of C. S. Mott lake and Flint river, town 8 north, range 7:

(a) Operate an airboat.

(b) Use a pneumatic or inflatable raft or flotation vessel or device in any area restricted to swimming, bathing or wading.

(c) Use a single-celled pneumatic or inflatable raft, flotation vessel or device anywhere.

C. S. MOTT LAKE - R281.725.7 - Slow-no wake speed.

7. On the waters of C. S. Mott lake, sections 10 to 13, 15, 16 and 21, town 8 north, range 7 east, Genesee township, Genesee county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed; or tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance, except that an authorized law enforcement officer acting in his official capacity may exceed a slow-no wake speed.

DOLLAR LAKE - R281.725.12 - Slow-no wake speed.

12. On the waters of Dollar (Hibbard) lake and the connected canals and channels, sections 11 and 12, T5N, R6E, Fenton township, Genesee county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

FLINT RIVER - R281.725.8 - Motorboats prohibited.

8. On the waters of the Flint river, from a point beginning 1000 feet west of the east line of sections 12 and 13, town 8 north, range 7 east, Genesee township, Genesee county, and upstream to Holloway dam, sections 2 and 11, town 8 north, range 8 east, Richfield township, Genesee county, it is unlawful to operate a motorboat, except for an authorized law enforcement officer acting in his official capacity.

LAKE FENTON - R281.725.14 - Slow-no wake speed zone.

14. Within, and for a distance of 200 feet either side of, the following described waters of Lake Fenton and the canals and channels connected thereto, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed; southerly from a line drawn from a point where Enid street, as extended, intersects the water's edge; thence northeasterly to the nearest opposite shore; thence northerly from a point where Haddon street, as extended, intersects the water's edge; thence easterly to the nearest opposite shore, section 13, T5N, R6E, Fenton township, Genesee county.

LAKE FENTON - 281.725.15 - Speed restriction.

15. On the waters of lake Fenton, sections 2, 11, 13, 14 and 23, T5N, R6E, Fenton township and the city of Fenton, Genesee county, except those portions already regulated by a slow-no wake rule it is unlawful, at any time, to operate a vessel in excess of 45 miles per hour (72 kilometers per hour).

LAKE FENTON - WC-25-88-001

On the waters of Lake Fenton, sections 12 and 14, town 5 north, range 6 east, Fenton township, Genesee county, on that portion of Lake Fenton located within the boundaries of a line from the northernmost portion of Cases Island northeast to the northernmost point of Lot 22 Woodhull Landing and the southernmost portion of Cases Island southeast to the easternmost portion of Log Cabin Point, it is unlawful to anchor except for emergency purposes.

LAKE PONEMAH, CHANNELS AND CANALS - R281.725.13 - Slow-no wake speed.

13. On the waters of the canals and channels connected to Lake Ponemah, including the channel connecting Lake Ponemah to Squaw lake, section 15, 21, 22, 27, and 28, T5N, R6E, Fenton township, Genesee county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

MARL LAKE - R281.725.4 - Slow-no wake speed zone.

4. On the waters of Marl lake, sections 32 and 33, town 5 north, range 6 east, Fenton township, Genesee county, from the bridge at Owen road, southerly for a distance of 1600 feet, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed. (See R281.747.9 for that part of Marl lake which lies in Livingston county.)

MCCASLIN LAKE - R281.725.5 - Motorboats prohibited.

5. On the waters of McCaslin lake, sections 22 and 27, town 5 north, range 5 east, Argentine township, Genesee county, it is unlawful to operate a motorboat.

MCCULLY LAKE - WC-25-06-002 - Operation of vessel powered by motor / Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of McCully lake, section 13, town 5 north, range 6 east, township of Fenton, county of Genesee, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to:

(a) Operate a vessel powered by a motor except an electric motor.

(b) Operate a vessel at a speed greater than slow-no wake speed.

The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System. For the purpose of this ordinance, a slow-no wake speed is a very slow speed whereby the wake or wash created from a motorized watercraft would be minimal.

OTTER LAKE - R281.725.10 - Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing.

10. On the waters of Otter lake, section 1, T9N, R8E, Forest township, Genesee county, it is unlawful between the hours of 6:20 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, kite, surfboard, or other similar contrivance. (See R281.744.5 for the regulation covering the part of Otter lake which lies in Lapeer county.)

PINE LAKE - R281.725.3 - High-speed boating and water skiing prohibited.

3. On the waters of Pine lake, sections 28, 29, 32, and 33, town 5 north, range 6 east, township of Fenton, county of Genesee, state of Michigan, no operator of any motorboat shall:

(a) Operate such motorboat at high speed, which means a speed at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing condition.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

SHIAWASSEE RIVER - R281.725.9 - Slow-no wake speed zone.

9. On the waters of the Shiawassee river, section 20, town 5 north, range 6 east, village of Linden, Genesee county, it is unlawful, between Linden road and Ripley road, for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

SILVER LAKE - R281.725.11 - Slow-no wake speed zone.

11. On the portion of Silver lake, township of Fenton, county of Genesee, including all canals and channels, located in the south 1/2 of the south 1/2 of the northwest 1/4 and the southwest 1/4 of the northeast 1/4 of section 33, T5N, R6E, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

SOFTWATER LAKE - R281.725.16 - Operation of a vessel powered by motor.

16. On the waters of Softwater lake, section 35, T5N, R5E, Argentine township, Genesee county, it is unlawful to operate a vessel powered by a motor other than an electric motor.
