SPECIAL LOCAL WATERCRAFT CONTROLS - MUSKEGON COUNTY

BEAR LAKE - WC-61-99-002 - Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of the southern most tip of Bear Lake located to the south of a line which extends from the western land point of lot 574 Bear Lake Road and the eastern land point, which is the dead end right of way of Oaknoll Street, all within section 23, town 10 north, range 17 west, city of North Muskegon, Muskegon county, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

CHANNEL FROM BEAR LAKE TO MUSKEGON LAKE - R281.761.2 - Slow-no wake speed.

2. On the waters of Bear lake channel from its head at Bear lake to its mouth at Muskegon lake, a distance of approximately 2,250 feet, no operator of any motorboat shall exceed a slow-no wake speed.

CRYSTAL LAKE - WC-61-94-005 - Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of Crystal lake, all within sections 25 and 36, Whitehall township, Muskegon county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

CRYSTAL LAKE - WC-61-94-006 - Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of Crystal lake, all within sections 30 and 31, Blue Lake township, Muskegon county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

DUCK LAKE, PORTION - R281.761.4 - Slow-no wake speed.

4. On the waters of Duck lake, section 24, town 11 north, range 18 west, sections 18 and 19, town 11 north, range 17 west, township of Fruitland, county of Muskegon, state of Michigan, west of a line beginning at a point on the north shore of Duck lake, 800 feet west of Lamos road and running due south to the opposite shore, no operator of any motorboat shall exceed a slow-no wake speed, which means a very slow speed whereby the wake or wash created by the motorboat would be minimal.

GOVERNMENT CHANNEL AND WHITE LAKE - WC-61-92-001 - Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of White lake, section 2, T11N, R18W, White River and Fruitland townships, Muskegon county, beginning at the westerly end of Government channel to White lake at the centerline of said channel; thence northerly and westerly along the shore of White lake to a point on Indian Point which is due north of light 5; thence due south to light number 5; thence 210 degrees north Azimuth to the shore of White lake; thence along said shore northwesterly to the point of beginning, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

The boundaries of the line described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

HART LAKE - R281.761.5 - Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing.

5. On the waters of Hart lake, sections 30 and 31, town 12 north, range 15 west, Holton township, Muskegon county, it is unlawful, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day, to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

MONA LAKE - R281.761.1 - Slow-no wake speed; motorboat restriction.

1. On the waters of Mona lake, Norton township, county of Muskegon, state of Michigan:

(a) Boats shall be operated at a slow-no wake speed through the channel extending from the Lake Harbor bridge to Lake Michigan.

(b) No operator of any motorboat shall operate his craft in the area from the northeastern abutment of the Lake Harbor Road bridge due east 100 feet, thence northeastward at a distance of 100 feet from and parallel to the north shore of Mona lake for a distance of 1,025 feet, thence 000 degrees true to the northwestern shoreline of Mona lake.

MUSKEGON CHANNEL - WC-61-99-001 - Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of the channel which begins at the N. Pier Inner Light and the Muskegon Lake Light Horn and ends at the N. Pier Outer Light all within section 28, town 10 north, range 17 west, city of Muskegon, Muskegon county, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

SPRING LAKE - R281.761.7 - Slow-no wake speed.

7. On the waters of Spring lake, section 36, T9N, R16W, village of Fruitport, Fruitport township, Muskegon county, it is unlawful for:

(a) The operator of a vessel less than 26 feet in length to exceed a slow-no wake speed when within 200 feet of any shore, dock, or pierhead.

(b) The operator of a vessel 26 feet or more in length to exceed a slow-no wake speed. (See R281.770.9 covering that portion of Spring lake which lies in Ottawa county.)

SPRING LAKE - WC-61-13-001 - Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of Spring Lake within the Village of Fruitport and the County of Muskegon, located within Section 36, T9N, R16W, in the portion of the lake lying north of a line from the piece of land on the west shore formerly connected to Government Lot 2, known as the village park (GPS) 43.121, - 86.161, extending across 552 feet to the east shore (GPS) 43.121, - 86.159, the area commonly referred to as "the bayou," it shall be unlawful to operate a vessel exceeding a slow-no wake speed.

STAHL BAYOU - R281.761.6 - Slow-no wake speed.

6. Oh the waters of Stahl bayou, section 35, T9N, R16W, Fruitport township, Muskegon county, north of the south line of section 35, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

WHITE LAKE - R281.761.8 - Slow-no wake speed.

8. On the waters of White lake, city of Montague and the city of Whitehall, from the Highway 31 bridge south to a line which extends in an easterly direction (090º true) from the southernmost portion of Maple Beach park to the nearest landfill, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

WOLF LAKE - R281.761.3 - Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing.

3. On the waters of Wolf lake, township of Eggleston, county of Muskegon, state of Michigan, no operator of any motorboat, during the period from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. of the following day, shall:

(a) Operate such motorboat at high speed, which means a speed at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing condition.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.
