Hunting

BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP - HC-82-04-001 - Hunting with firearms prohibited. 

Hunting with, or the discharge of, a firearm is unlawful in Brownstown Township, except at a target range recognized and approved by the township board. This prohibition shall not apply to that portion known as the Pointe Mouillee State Game Area, located in the southern portion of the township or property owned by the Huron-Clinton Metroparks.  This prohibition shall not apply to hunting with, or discharge of, a bow and arrow.  The Department of Natural Resources may issue permits to control the depredations of birds and animals by shooting with a firearm or other method.

The prohibitions contained in this ordinance shall not apply to peace officers or member of the armed forces in the discharge of their duties.

CANTON TOWNSHIP - R317.182.11 - Hunting prohibited, exceptions.

11. Hunting with, or the discharge of, a firearm is unlawful in the north 1/2 of section 6 and in sections 5 and 9, T2S, R8E, except as follows:

(a) Hunting with, or the discharge of, a shotgun loaded with shot not larger than no. 6 is permitted from October 20 to March 1.

(b) The discharge of a firearm is permitted all year at target ranges that are registered with the township clerk.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, EASTERN PORTION - R317.182.4 - Hunting prohibited.

4. Hunting with, or the discharge of, a firearm, except at a target range recognized and approved by the township board, is unlawful in that part of Canton township east of Canton Center.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, PART OF SECTION 6 - R317.182.2 - Hunting prohibited.

2. Hunting with, or the discharge of, a firearm, except at a target range recognized and approved by the township board, is unlawful in the south 1/2 of section 6, town 2 south, range 8 east.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, SECTION 4 - R317.182.3 - Hunting prohibited.

3. Hunting with, or the discharge of, a firearm, except at a target range recognized and approved by the township board, is unlawful in section 4, town 2 south, range 8 east, bounded on the north by Joy road, on the east by Canton Center road, on the south by Warren road, and on the west by Beck road.

CANTON TOWNSHIP - HC-82-07-001 - Hunting with a firearm unlawful in sections 7, 8, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33 T2S R8E, except as follows:

Hunting with a shotgun,

Hunting with a rimfire rifle or handgun, .22 caliber or smaller,

Hunting with a conventional (smokeless powder) handgun single- or multiple- shot using straight walled cartridge only,

Hunting with a muzzle loading rifle, shotgun or black powder handgun,

Discharge of a firearm for target shooting while using a recognizable target,

The prohibitions contained in this ordinance shall not apply to peace officers or members of the armed forces in the discharge of their duties.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP - R317.182.1 - Hunting prohibited in certain area.

1. Hunting with, or the discharge of, a firearm is unlawful in that part of Plymouth township east of a line described as follows:

Beginning at a point where Ann Arbor road enters Plymouth township in section 31; thence northeasterly on Ann Arbor road to Ridge road; thence north on Ridge road to the corner common to sections 19, 20, 29, and 30, T1S, R8E; thence west on the south section line of section 19, T1S, R8E, to the north-south centerline of section 19, T1S, R8E; thence northerly on the north-south centerline to the east-west centerline of section 19, T1S, R8E; thence east on the east-west centerline of section 19, T1S, R8E, to Ridge road; thence south on Ridge road to the north edge of the M-14 expressway; thence east on the M-14 expressway to Beck road; thence north on Beck road to the north line of Plymouth township.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP - R317.182.9 - Hunting restricted in certain area.

9. Hunting with, or the discharge of, a firearm, except a shotgun loaded with shot not larger than no. 6, is unlawful west of a line described as follows:

Beginning at a point where Ann Arbor road enters Plymouth township in section 31; thence northeasterly on Ann Arbor road to Ridge road; thence north on Ridge road to the corner common to sections 19, 20, 29, and 30, T1S; thence west on the south section line of section 19, T1S, R8E, to the north-south centerline of section 19, T1S, R8E; thence northerly on the north-south centerline to the east-west centerline of section 19, T1S, R8E; thence east on the east-west centerline of section 19, T1S, R8E, to Ridge road; thence south on Ridge road to the north edge of the M-14 expressway; thence east on the M-14 expressway to Beck road; thence north on Beck road to the north line of Plymouth township.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP - R317.182.10 - Hunting prohibited during certain portion of the year.

10. Hunting with, or the discharge of, a firearm is unlawful in Plymouth township during the period March 1 to October 19 each year, except at target ranges recognized and approved by the township board.
