Island Lake Recreation Area holds the largest restorable complex of oak barrens known in Michigan and is home to 10 different threatened/special-concern species! Join us in tending to an ecologically rich prairie remnant at Island Lake by hand-pulling invasive herbaceous plants encroaching on the prairie.
