Ionia Recreation Area Hiking Trail - Enchanted Borealis
Please join us for a unique night hike with a fun holiday feel. Meander down one of our hiking trails that is lit by lanterns and enjoy some colorful holiday lights along the way. You can enjoy some time with family and friends around a campfire by the lake for some marshmallows or hotdogs (you must provide your own items). There will also be 10 private firepits available for a $25 fee. This is a fundraiser for the park to do future improvement projects and fund items for our explorer guide programs. The Enchanted Borealis event will take place from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm on December 10th, 11th, and 12th . Registration is required.
The Campground area will only be available to those that have reserved the firepit. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. The trails traverse through low and uneven terrain. Some areas may have puddling water. Please note that all campfires will be extinguished once the event ends at 8:30.
If any of the events are cancelled, a notice will be emailed to all that provide addresses, or a call will be made to those that don’t provide email messages. A sign will be posted at the Point parking lot.
