Closure dates at DNR staffed shooting ranges

The Department of Natural Resources-staffed shooting ranges (Dansville, Lapeer, Ortonville, Pontiac Lake, Rose Lake and Sharonville) will be closed on the following dates.

Holidays:

• New Year’s – Jan. 1, 2026.
• Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – Jan. 19, 2026.
• President’s Day – Feb. 16, 2026.
• Easter – April 5, 2026.
• Thanksgiving – Nov. 24-27, 2026.
• Christmas – Dec. 22-25, 2026.
• New Year’s – Dec. 29-31, 2026, and Jan. 1, 2027.

First Thursday of each month for maintenance/construction/professional development:

• Jan. 1, 2026 (closed for holiday).
• Feb. 5, 2026.
• March 5, 2026.
• April 2, 2026.
• May 7, 2026.
• June 4, 2026.
• July 2, 2026.
• Aug. 6, 2026.
• Sept. 3, 2026.
• First Thursdays in October and November will remain open due to sight-in season.
• Dec. 3, 2026.

The DNR staffed ranges (except Dansville and Lapeer) will be open and available (*except on closed dates listed above and below in parentheses):

• Nov. 16 – Sept. 30: five days per week, Thursday through Monday (*CLOSED TUESDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS).
• Oct. 1-31: six days per week, Wednesday through Monday (*CLOSED TUESDAYS).
• Nov. 1 -15: seven days per week.
