It is important to know the difference between the gray wolf and the coyote.
Gray wolf (canis lupus)
Height: 30 inches average
Length: 4.5 - 6.5 feet
Weight: 50 to 100 pounds
Coyote (canis latrans)
Height: 18 inches maximum
Length: 3 feet
Weight: 25 to 45 pounds
