Temporary licenses for active duty military personnel's spouses who wish to be licensed or registered under the Skilled Trades Regulation Act
Spouses of members of the armed forces stationed in Michigan need to provide acceptable proof to the board and department that he or she is married to a member of the armed forces of the United States, who is on active duty, so that they may be eligible to obtain a temporary six-month professional license or registration. The spouses must show proof they hold an out-of-state license or registration that is valid and in good standing, that he or she is married to a member of the armed forces and that his or her spouse was assigned to a duty station in Michigan under his or her spouse’s official active duty military orders. The temporary license may be renewed for one additional 6-month term, if the board determines that the temporary licensee continues to meet the requirements.
