Barrier Free Design Board

The Barrier Free Design Board was created by 1974 PA 190, amending 1966 PA 1. The board has the responsibility to receive, review, and process requests for exceptions to the barrier free design specifications; require appropriate equivalent alternatives when exceptions are granted; receive, process, and make recommendations for barrier free design rules.

Requests to appear before the Barrier Free Design Board (including completed documentation and applicable fee) must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the meeting date. Meeting dates, times, and locations are subject to change.

All meetings will be held at 611 W. Ottawa Street, Lansing, MI 48933.

The meeting site and parking are accessible. Individuals attending a meeting are requested to refrain from using heavily scented personal care products, in order to enhance accessibility for everyone.
