Utilization of Unused Prescription Drugs Program
Public Act 383 of 2012 requires the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to establish and maintain the Utilization of Unused Prescription Drugs Program, which was created to dispense unused or donated prescription drugs, other than controlled substances, to eligible participants and to provide for the destruction and disposal of prescription drugs or other medications that are ineligible for dispensing under the program. As part of the establishment of this program, the Board of Pharmacy is required under MCL 333.17775 of the Public Health Code to establish program guidelines, policies and procedures that address the Utilization of Unused Prescription Drugs Program.
