Marijuana Regulatory Agency Announces Online Social Equity Program Educational Session

June 24, 2020 – The Marijuana Regulatory Agency’s (MRA) social equity team has announced the date, time, and location for its next education and outreach session to promote and encourage participation in the licensed marijuana market:

Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Online (Zoom)
While attendance is free, space is limited; interested participants need to register at the following website: http://bit.ly/MRA-SE. The Zoom meeting information will be sent to participants who register for the session.
During the Zoom meeting, the MRA will provide an education session highlighting the recent expansion of the social equity program. The MRA’s social equity representatives will be available to answer questions following the meeting.
Participating in the Social Equity Program allows qualifying applicants to benefit from a reduction of up to 75% off the application fee, the initial license fee, and future renewal fees, which will be calculated as follows for qualifying applicants:
- 25% reduction for those who have been a resident of one of the 184 disproportionally impacted communities for at least 5 of the last 10 years.
AND/OR
- 25% reduction if the individual(s) holding majority ownership have a marijuana-related misdemeanor conviction.
OR
- 40% reduction if the individual(s) holding majority ownership have a marijuana-related felony conviction.
AND/OR
- 10% reduction if the individual(s) holding majority ownership were registered as primary caregivers for at least two years between 2008 and 2017.
Social Equity Representatives will confirm eligibility for participation in this program through acceptance of several forms of documentation.
