MRS partnership with DeWys Manufacturing helps customers with job experience
February 05, 2025
Michigan Rehabilitation Services’ (MRS) five-year partnership with DeWys Manufacturing has helped both the business and MRS customers. Over the years, DeWys Manufacturing has shown their commitment to supporting the needs of their employees by attending various trainings on disability and participating in hiring events hosted by MRS.
DeWys Manufacturing has also offered mock interviews to MRS customers to help them prepare for their job search. When they heard about the Graduation to Work program — a partnership between MRS and MCTI that places Michigan Career & Technical Institute graduates in work opportunities with businesses the bureau works with — they were the first business to sign up.
As part of that program, they opened their facility to Cameron, an MRS customer, allowing him to join a tour and get a better understanding of the expectations and environment he would be working in before committing.
“MRS provided exceptional support during Cameron’s onboarding, including payroll assistance and life coaching, which helped him navigate his new role and environment,” shared DeWys. “With the dedication of his team and the guidance of his coach, Cameron quickly proved to be a dependable and valued member of our workforce.”
Once he began working, Cameron was able to demonstrate his reliability and flexibility as a team member and secure a place for himself on their team. He joined DeWys Manufacturing as a direct hire just two months after his trial with the company.
