MRS helps Marine veteran get hearing aids to stay employed
April 09, 2025
U.S. Marine Corps veteran James had been employed as a federal court security officer and transporter for 20 years before coming to MRS due to his hearing loss. The hearing loss was creating difficulty at work due to his inability to hear and understand directives related to his security and transport duties. To help address the issue, James was looking for support from MRS with purchasing the recommended bilateral hearing aids.
Throughout his vocational rehabilitation appointments, James was very informative but concerned about being able to maintain his employment and provide for his family. After receiving his hearing aids, James shared:
“My hearing aids have improved my reception and clarity when at my job in the courtroom. All alarms, radio communications, and phone calls are clear and understood without need to repeat allowing for quick response or reaction to security measures.”
With every employment verification document James submitted, he also included a note of progress with the hearing aids and/or appreciation to MRS for the assistance.
“My hearing aids are the best and continue to improve all aspects of my job duties as a federal court security officer,” shared James. “Many thanks for your support, assistance, encouragement and guidance throughout this process which has had such a positive impact upon my job performance.”
