MRS helps student reach dream of becoming a teacher

From the moment Rosalie began working with Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) as a transition student, she demonstrated determination, curiosity and a love of learning. After graduating high school, she set sights on becoming a teacher, a goal she pursued with dedication and purpose. With the support from MRS, she enrolled at Michigan State University (MSU) to pursue a bachelor’s degree in education.

Throughout college, Rosalie received vocational guidance and counseling to help her develop the confidence and skills needed to reach her career goals. MRS provided financial assistance toward her education, helping to remove barriers that could have prevented her from continuing her studies. In addition, ongoing support allowed her to stay focused on her academics while also preparing for her future career path.

As she progressed through her studies, Rosalie worked closely with MRS to build job skills, explore classroom environments, and strengthen her professional readiness. Job development services assisted her in understanding workplace expectations and identifying teaching positions aligned with her interests and strengths. She remained proactive and engaged, demonstrating strong commitment to her education and future profession.

Upon graduation she successfully obtained her bachelor’s degree from MSU and transitioned into the workforce as a teacher. Her passion for supporting students and creating positive learning environments has enabled her to thrive in her role. She is now employed in her chosen field where she builds meaningful connections with her students and contributes to her community daily.
