Join us as we aid restoration efforts by cutting glossy buckthorn, a wetland invasive shrub that would otherwise take over the valuable fen ecosystem that is Glen Fen. Be sure to meet at parking lot off Glenn Road just east of Mt. Hope Road.
What to Wear and Bring: Volunteers will be asked to work in an area with tall vegetation and uneven footing. Please dress for outdoor work, wearing long pants, long-sleeve shirt, work boots, and sun protection. Bring layers to dress for the weather. For wetland sites, waterproof boots are recommended. Bring water, a snack, and any medication you might need. To prevent the spread of invasive species, ensure all gear is free of mud and seeds. Work gloves, eye protection, and hand tools are provided.
