Call in with your question; get it answered live on the air
Upper Peninsula staffers from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources will appear live on television Thursday night to answer viewer questions on “Ask the DNR” on WNMU-TV13.
The hour-long program, hosted by Mike Settles, will air live at 8 p.m. EST, Thursday, Oct. 1.
Members of the U.P. Whitetails Association of Marquette County will be underwriting the broadcast and will be answering phones during the show.
DNR panelists scheduled to appear include Mike Evink, conservation officer, Schoolcraft County, John Bauman, fisheries biologist, Escanaba, Brian Roell, wildlife biologist, Marquette and Tom Seablom, western U.P. district manager Forest Resources Division, Ishpeming.

Following a Saturday morning rescue effort involving Michigan Department of Natural of Resources and U.S. Coast Guard personnel, a father and son were hospitalized for hypothermia after they became stranded in Lake St. Clair offshore of Grosse Pointe (Wayne County).

There’s a new way to make the journey across the Detroit River: on foot or by bicycle. When the Gordie Howe International Bridge opened its pedestrian and bicycle path on Aug. 5, it created something new for travelers — a simple, toll-free way for people to cross between Detroit and Windsor without ever getting behind the wheel.
This week, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources assisted the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and U.S. Geological Survey to stock 7,500 snuffbox mussels in several locations on the Clinton River (Oakland County), Huron River (Livingston County) and Cass Lake (Oakland County).
