Experience the Wonders of the Universe at Michigan’s Largest Free Astronomy Event! Join us for Astronomy at the Beach, an unforgettable two-night celebration of space, science, and discovery at beautiful Kent Lake Beach in Island Lake Recreation Area.
Whether you're a seasoned stargazer or just curious about the cosmos, there’s something for everyone:

• View distant planets, stars, and galaxies through more than 50 high-powered telescopes
• Explore interactive science demonstrations that bring space and physics to life
• Enjoy expert talks and engaging presentations from astronomers and science communicators
• Browse booths from vendors and local astronomy clubs offering hands-on activities and gear

This is your chance to connect with the night sky like never before—for free. Don’t miss Michigan’s biggest star party! 

Astronomy at the Beach is Michigan’s largest free astronomy event. Packed with learning and fun, visitors will get to see far off planets and stars through 50+ telescopes. Also, onsite there will be interactive science demonstrations, lectures, vendors, and local astronomy clubs. The event will be hosted over two nights at Kent Lake Beach within Island Lake Recreation Area.

A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.
