Belle Isle Park - Metro Detroit Out of the Darkness Walk
The American Foundation of Suicide Prevention is a national non-profit focused on ending suicide. Yearly the Metro Detroit group of AFSP fundraise and gather to support one another at the annual Metro Detroit Out of the Darkness Community walk.
The community walks are held across the country. Out of the Darkness walks give people the courage to open up about their own connections to the cause, and a platform to create a culture that’s smarter about mental health. Friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers walk side-by-side, supporting each other and in memory of those we’ve lost.
To learn more and register please visit AFSP.org/MetroDetroit
Please stay on the side of the road within the cones and be mindful of traffic. There will be route volunteers along the walk path.
A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.
Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the park to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.
