1 10/12/2025 Schoolcraft Grouse Injury No Shotgun 57 60 No No Final Four hunters were walking spread out in a line when a bird was flushed by their dog. The shooter swung to shoot at the bird as it went right to left but didn't clear the victim prior to pulling the trigger. The victim was struck in the chest and abdomen are by the shot. (Shooter swinging on game).
2 11/17/2025 Montmorency Deer Injury No Rifle 74 81 Yes Yes Final Two hunters were hunting deer sitting in blinds approximately 400 yards apart. One hunter stated that he was shooting at a deer that was standing between the two blinds. The bullet struck the other hunter, who had stepped outside of his blind, in the leg. (Fail to ID target and beyond).
3 11/21/2025 Lapeer Deer Fatal Yes Shotgun 62 N/A No No Pending It appears the subject had crossed a horizontally felled tree and attempted to pull his gun over the tree by grabbing it by the barrel. It appears the trigger was activated in the thick brush as the subject pulled the gun, firing a round that struck the subject in the right side of the chest, causing fatal injury. (Careless handling of a firearm).
