All motor vehicles (motorcycles, ORVs, ATVs, UTVs, etc.) entering the Silver Lake ORV Area must be properly permitted. Please ensure you have the following before riding.
All motor vehicles riding on the dunes must display an ORV license, ORV trail permit and Recreation Passport. Additionally, towing vehicles used to transport equipment must also display a Recreation Passport. There are no additional fees to ride or park your towing vehicle at Silver Lake ORV Area.
All motor vehicles riding the dunes at Silver Lake ORV Area must display an ORV license AND ORV trail permit. This applies to all motorcycles, ORVs, ATVs, UTVs, etc.

The ORV license and the ORV trail permit are both valid for one year, which begins April 1 and ends March 31 of the following year.

Daily Recreation Passports are not available for residents. Please note that resident passports cannot be purchased online
