Discover the unparalleled thrill of the Silver Lake ORV Area, a one-of-a-kind scramble area for off-road enthusiasts.

Located within Silver Lake State Park on the stunning Lake Michigan shoreline, this destination boasts 450 acres of towering, open sand dunes. It offers the only ORV riding experience of its type east of the Mississippi River!

Anyone can park in the ORV Area and walk to the water. You may also walk through the pedestrian area of the dunes to access the water. Be sure to venture to the Little Sable Lighthouse. Vehicles are not permitted on the water's edge.

Before you enter the dunes, please make sure that your vehicle is ready ride. If you are entering the ORV area with a dune-ready vehicle, you can use the welcome center to make adjustments. If you are trailering, you can make adjustments in your parking spot.

To expand recreation in the dunes during the off-season, a dedicated shoreline horseback riding season takes place every November and a fat-tire biking season takes place Dec. 15 to March 15.
