Press Release: GCM Waypoint to surrender processor license, permanently close under CRA consent orders

The Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) has entered into two consent orders with Ground Control Michigan, LLC, doing business as GCM Waypoint, resolving two formal complaints involving the company’s adult-use processor license.

Under the orders, GCM Waypoint will surrender adult-use processor license No. AU-P-000154. The license may not be renewed, reinstated, reissued, reactivated, or otherwise restored in the future. The company also must reconcile all inventory in the statewide monitoring system before surrendering the license.

“This outcome reflects outstanding collaboration among the Michigan State Police, the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission, and the CRA’s enforcement and legal teams,” said CRA Executive Director Brian Hanna. “We deeply value those partnerships and the professionalism, persistence, and information-sharing that helped bring this matter to a resolution. I also want to commend the CRA’s investigators for their exceptional investigative work and unwavering commitment throughout this complex case. Their diligence, expertise, and dedication were instrumental in ensuring accountability. The conduct uncovered through this investigation was egregious and cannot be tolerated in Michigan’s regulated cannabis market. Those who engage in conduct of this nature should expect the CRA to respond decisively and pursue the strongest action available under the law.”

As part of the accompanying stipulations, GCM Waypoint did not contest the allegations and waived its right to an administrative hearing. The company also agreed to cease all operations and permanently close on July 28, 2026.
