Employers must activate MiUI accounts immediately to avoid delays completing tasks.
To prepare for the launch of MiUI’s benefits system at 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, the MiWAM platform will be permanently retired at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2.
This will begin a Downtime Period that will continue until MiUI goes live. The week of Nov. 2 is the last opportunity for employers to activate their MiUI account using MiWAM’s simplified process.
After MiWAM permanently goes offline, employers will still be able to activate their MiUI account — but the process will not be as streamlined as it is now.

Complete any tax or benefits related tasks in MiUI or MiWAM before the Downtime Period begins.
During the Downtime Period, all UIA Local Offices will be closed, and Customer Service and Office of Employer Ombudsman phone lines will be unavailable.
If you need to submit files — such as those related to a Employer Filed Claims (EFC) — please note that anything submitted during the Downtime Period will not be reviewed by UIA staff until after Nov. 9.
During the Downtime Period, no payments can be made or processed. Any payments scheduled during that time must be canceled as soon as possible and reschedule for after Nov. 9.
All UIA's online resources for employers and third-party administrators (TPAs) will remain accessible during the Downtime Period at Michigan.gov/UIA.

When MiUI goes live on Nov. 9, all UIA offices will reopen and phone lines will be available.
New Introduction to MiUI Webinars are now available for Michigan employers, TPAs, and the general public at uiascheduling.state.mi.us. These one hour sessions provide a general overview of the MiUI benefits functions that will go live at 8 a.m. Nov. 9, as part of UIA's modernization of its unemployment system.
Webinars can be scheduled up to 10 days in advance. Each session highlights key MiUI features and functions to help participants understand what to expect when the new system launches.

In addition to the webinars, UIA has published a Getting Started with MiUI guide, available online. This resource offers essential information to help you navigate the new system with confidence.
The UIA encourages all employers and TPAs to take advantage of these tools as the MiUI Go Live date approaches. More information and resources will be shared in the days leading to the transition.
It’s important for employers to activate their MiUI account today to best manage unemployment duties.
The UIA video entitled "Steps to get ready for Go Live!" will walk you through activation steps if you haven't set up your account.
