Help protect native habitat in Waterloo Recreation Area, the largest state park in the Lower Peninsula. Waterloo is home to a plethora of native ecosystems, with 25 unique natural communities forming the diverse landscape. Aid restoration efforts by cutting glossy buckthorn, a wetland invasive shrub that would otherwise take over this valuable fen ecosystem.

Register by emailing natural resource steward Anna Cone at ConeA1@Michigan.gov.

For more information, visit the Volunteer stewardship webpage.

Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks.

Please note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the park to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.
